COMMITTEES & SYSTEMS

Functional WHS Committees and HSRS;

A Health and Safety Committee (HSC) enables a PCBU and worker representatives to meet regularly and work co-operatively to develop policies and procedures and monitor activites to improve work health and safety performance.

Safety SA Consultants can provide WHS committee member training, committee reports, terms of reference and Committee evaluation reports.

Management systems review and improvement

The final stage of a mature/developed WHS&IM Management System

The final stage of a mature/developed WHS&IM Management System is to undertake an Internal Audit of the System.

Safety SA can conduct full audits or provide tools for partial/in progress audits.

Once the WHS&IM Management System has been tested the PBCU:

  • Officers would largely be protected from prosecution arising from serious incidents;
  • would be eligible to lodge a submission for a Safework SA award;
  • WHS obligations have therefore been achieved, this consequently transfers the obligations upon staff to work safely, and that they can then be individually prosecuted or disciplined under Internal Code of Conduct Policies, for more serious breaches.

N.b. With the WHS&IM Management System being reviewed the house is now completed and has been tested.
